Mayra is an urban planner and strategist with a passion for innovation. Ten years of experience as a facilitator, cross-cultural research in six countries and a solid academic background in participatory design, psychology and anthropology, give a robust foundation to her human-centered approach to planning. Since 2007 Mayra has focused on addressing the socio-cultural dimension of high-profile planning and engineering projects. In this role she has developed sustainability frameworks for corporate clients, assessed project compliance with international standards for social and environmental performance, and conducted field research throughout the Americas. Currently she is exploring the role that information technologies play in fostering civic engagement and adoption of sustainable behaviors.
Mayra holds a Masters Degree in Community and Regional Planning, a Masters Degree in Latin American Studies, and is fluent in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese.
